What Boardmasters means for local economy and businesses

More than 50,000 people are expected to arrive in Cornwall this weekend for Boardmasters music and surfing festival.
Taking place in Newquay from August 9 to 13, this year’s headliners are Liam Gallagher, Florence + The Machine and Lorde.
Boardmasters takes place between two festival sites in and around Newquay – Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach. The festival was founded in 1981 as a surfing competition, and in 2005 it expanded to include music acts, taking place at Watergate Bay.
