Warehouse deal could signal 200 jobs for auction house

An auction house has announced plans to invest £15 million into the West Midlands after purchasing a warehouse property.
John Pye Auctions has bought a 350,000 sq ft unit on a 20-acre site in Cradley Heath which it says will help it create more than 200 jobs.
It is set to house a new auction facility encompassing 50 salerooms and space to hold stock. The warehouse, in Garratts Lane, is the former home of food and drink packaging manufacturer Dart Products Europe.
It will be the largest of Nottingham-based John Pye Auctions’ seven retail sites across the UK and mainland Europe once it opens in the spring.
