Old Sainsbury’s site set for major student accommodation development

New plans have revealed to build a major new development of student accommodation at a former supermarket site in a Birmingham suburb.
The Galliard Apsley Partnership joint venture, comprising housebuilder Galliard Homes and funder Apsley House Capital, is leading the scheme at the old Sainsbury’s in Selly Oak after it acquired the vacant plot earlier this year.
The team has unveiled designs to build around 850 rooms across five storeys on the land at the corner of Chapel Lane and the A38 Bristol Road.
