Newcastle cruelty-free meat innovator hails strong position

Lab-grown meat pioneer BSF Enterprise has talked of its strong financial position thanks to recent funding and interest from US investors.
The early stage biotech parent firm, which operates Newcastle University spin-out 3D Bio Tissues (3DBT) published full year results showing wider losses of £1.5m in 2023, compared with £930,000. Bosses said additional corporate, legal and advisory costs associated with the acquisition of 3DBT were behind the results, but hailed the market opportunity for its products which are intended to shake up global meat consumption.
