Birmingham’s dining sector will welcome a new addition next week when a Japanese ‘sando’ shop opens.
Called Shokupan, the 2,128 sq ft store will launch on Thursday in the old Tasty Plaice unit in Grand Central shopping centre.
Shokupan will have 35 seats and serve hot and cold sandos which are sandwiches made with a sweet, milk-based bread called shokupan. It will also serve pizzas and baked goods and the new restaurant has created 20 jobs.
The company said it was planning to open eight new venues nationwide by 2025 and is exploring franchise opportunities.
