NEC boss becomes chairman at BOXPARK

NEC Group chairman Paul Thandi has been named as chairman of shipping container retail and leisure company BOXPARK.
BOXPARK was founded in 2011 and today has sites in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley.
In 2021, LDC backed the business to support its plans to launch new sites in London and other UK cities. it will open in Liverpool in 2024 and is also rolling out sibling brand BOXHALL, “a high-end food and beverage concept”, starting in Bristol in 2024.
Mr Thandi has been CEO of the NEC Group for 16 years and became its chairman this year.
He will succeed John Leslie as BOXPARK chairman. Mr Leslie, a former CEO of iNTERTAIN and previously finance director of Regent Inns, Scottish & Newcastle Retail and Allied Domecq Retail International, will stay on the BOXPARK board and continue to chair the remuneration and audit committees.
