MAJOR high street chains and brands are closing more of their stores next week.
House of Fraser, Matalan and Wetherspoons are all preparing to shut some of their branches for good.

Soaring inflation has left shoppers strapped for cash, and retailers are struggling to get customers to part with their hard-earned money.
High energy costs and a shift to online shopping are also taking a toll and many brands and many just haven’t been able to keep going.
But not every retailer is shutting stores for good – some are expanding.
Poundland has opened several stores this month, including in Ipswich and Cardiff.
While B&M is opening seven new branches across the UK within weeks.
Below we have listed all the retailers closing this week and the locations of the stores.
House of Fraser
The House of Fraser shop in Guildford is selling all stock with 20% off it prepares to close for the last time on Saturday (September 30).
A spokesperson for Frasers Group commented “It is with regret that we announce House of Fraser Solihull is planned to close this month.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their hard work and dedication.
“Where possible, we are committed to finding new roles within the Group for all staff.”
It comes as the Frasers Group, which owns the chain, closed the Solihull store in August and its branch in Reading will close on October 29.
House of Fraser was saved from collapse by billionaire businessman Mike Ashley back in 2018.
But while the deal saved the chain’s 59 stores and 17,000 workers who were facing the axe, a number of its stores have closed in recent years.
There are now only 30 department stores left in the UK.
Matalan
Matalan is shutting its clearance store in Blythswood Retail Park in Renfrew on Saturday (September 30).
Matalan’s clearance stores are famous for their big discounts on the prices you’d usually find in the regular shops.
This store has already launched its closing down sale, starting with 30% off a few weeks ago and now offering up to 50% off absolutely everything.
Staff have been encouraging shoppers to come check out the sale, warning them that stock is selling fast.
A spokesperson for Matalan said: “We can confirm that our Blythswood store will be closing on September 30.
“We are liaising closely with our colleagues from the store and doing all we can to find suitable positions in our local store network.”
The chain also confirmed the closure of its Portsmouth shop in Station Street on Saturday.
It’s not all bad news though as a new shop will be opening just down the road at the Pompey Centre.
The new store will be opening mid autumn.
Wetherspoons
The Moon and Bell in Loughborough is set to close its doors to punters for good on Sunday, October 1.
It comes after The Sun revealed that Wetherspoons has put a further 11 pubs up for sale only a year after it marketed 32 of its boozers.
Branches in Chesterfield, Doncaster and Cardiff are among those that have been put up for sale in the latest round of closures.
