Energy crisis: Neon Reef and Social Energy Supply cease trading

An energy firm in Dorset with around 30,000 customers is one of the latest small suppliers to announce it has ceased trading, as soaring wholesale prices continue to impact the sector.Energy regulator Ofgem announced late on Tuesday (November 16) that Poole-based Neon Reef, which supplied renewable sourced electricity to its customers, and Social Energy Supply had become the latest firms to go out of business. Neon Reef confirmed on its website that with “regret” it was no longer trading. Social Energy supplied 5,500 domestic customers.
