
The competitions watchdog said it is looking into Hanson UK’s plans to buy the £227 million turnover recycling company Mick George Group.
Hanson, one of the UK’s biggest construction material suppliers, announced a deal had been struck to buy the central England recycling firm back in December – subject to competition authority approval.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) says it is now considering whether the merger should go ahead or if it would result in a loss of competition in the markets the firms both operate in.
