Young’s Seafood will close its Marsden Road site in Grimsby, with the anticipated loss of more than 200 jobs.
The company has been unable to find a way to keep operations going, with the loss of a retail contract understood to have led to the move. The Ross House team has worked through consultations with staff and their representatives since the proposal was announced in June. Work is now being scaled back ahead of it ceasing in late October, with remaining processing heading to its recently expanded Humberstone Road site and facilities in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
Some jobs are being created, with exact numbers not revealed.
